How to make an outfit using Adobe Photoshop:

Wait! Before you do anything, go to this site (if you don't already have Adobe Photoshop) and download a free, 30 day trial of it!

http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dladobeps.html

ALSO: check out the F.A.Q. for some website that have interesting (and easy) Photoshop tutorials!!!
Step One: Get a screenshot of your Webkinz. I suggest using the screencapture tool...download it from this website: http://www.faststone.org/FSCapturerDownload.htm this is an AMAZING screencapturing tool...it's free, and there are NO viruses (i've had it for a year)...it's especially simple to use!! I also suggest making sure you have a neutral background, and your Webkinz is not wearing anything. It makes it a lot easier. You should have something that looks like this:

Step Two: Now it's time for the fun part...creating the outfit.

Pick anything you want, but stay away from hats until you get a bit more practice. They are the hardest things to get exact. I'm going to make a simple design. I'll make a pair of cuffed jeans, a simple gold bracelet and a polo shirt. First thing to do: Zoom in (Tutorials - KinzFitz) until you get to about here:

Use a regular brush at size 2. Carefully draw an outline of the clothes you want your Webkinz to wear. **HINT: make sure you draw the outline in a darker colour than you want, so it appears to look like an actual Webkinz outfit** It should look something like this:

Step Three: Here's the tricky part...filling in & shadowing.
Using the eyedropper (Tutorials - KinzFitz) tool, pick the colour of your shirt/pants/whatever outline.

Using the colour (Tutorials - KinzFitz) box, change the slider of R, G, or B to make the original outline colour a little bit lighter. Then, take the paintbrush tool. See the Opacity (Tutorials - KinzFitz) bar at the top of the screen? Click the drop-out box and change it anywhere from about 73-35 %. Now, make your paintbrush a little bit bigger and fill in the shirt/pants/whatever. Do the same for the rest of your outfit. When you are done, you should have something like this: Tutorials - KinzFitz
Now, it's time for shadowing. Using the Burn (Tutorials - KinzFitz) tool (if it isn't there, click and hold the Dodge (Tutorials - KinzFitz) tool and wait for the list to appear (1 second) and then click the Burn tool. Set the Exposure (Tutorials - KinzFitz) to 64% (at the top of the screen). Now, take your brush and start to paint some of the areas in (mostly, the arms, legs, under stomach etc). When you're finished, it should look something like this:

Step Four: The accesories. Now, it's time to make my bracelet. Or yours. First, make a new layer. Go to Layers>New>Layer. Next, draw a bracelet in white, or whatever you're making (make sure the opacity is @ 100 %!!!) In the Colour Box (above), go to the Styles tab. There should be tons of styles (little coloured & patterned boxes). If not, click the arrow on the top right (Tutorials - KinzFitz) and in the drop-down box, click any one of the listed styles. Now, for a gold bracelet, use this (Tutorials - KinzFitz) style. Click it. It should appear. If not, you missed one of the above steps. Now you'll need to Flatten the Layers. Click the arrow (Tutorials - KinzFitz) top right of the Layers Box. Go down to Flatten Image. Now, go back to your Burn tool, but instead, click the Dodge tool. Using it, go to your accesorie and click it until you see it start to "shine" (it looks as it it is gradually erasing). Your final result (drumroll, please...)

TAH DAH!!! I hope this worked for you as well as it did for me! Send me any outfits you make! I'll happily put them in the Outfit Runway (who knows...you might just win a ribbon!)
